The People Behind
OMW

Adrian Steirn
Adrian Steirn is a photographer and director whose work has placed him inside institutions and alongside subjects that demand absolute precision — the National Portrait Gallery, National Geographic and a decade producing documentary work at the intersection of government, conflict and culture.
The discipline applied to that work is the same discipline applied to every Origin build. The standard of documentation, the intolerance for approximation, the insistence that each element be correct rather than merely adequate.
Origin Motor Works is built on a simple premise: that the last generation of fully analogue G-Wagons deserves to be preserved by people who understand what preservation actually means. Not restoration as a business category. As craft.
Luca Fiasconaro
Luca Fiasconaro is a co-founder of Origin Motor Works. A trusted partner in the business, his friendship with Adrian has endured decades and countless adventures — across continents, across terrain and through the kind of shared experience that only the road can produce. Origin is built on that foundation.

Mike Jones
Mike Jones is a co-founder of Origin Motor Works and brings over thirteen years of experience as a yacht captain and owner-operator in the Caribbean. His background instilled a deep appreciation for engineering, craftsmanship, reliability and attention to detail — principles that now underpin every vehicle produced by the company.
Driven by a passion for the timeless Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Mike works alongside his fellow founders to create beautifully restored and thoughtfully modernised vehicles designed to be driven, explored and enjoyed for generations.
What We Stand For
Mechanical permanence
The OM 605 and OM 606 have no common rail, no ECU, no electronic dependency. They are serviceable anywhere. We build platforms that outlast their owners.
No over-digitisation
The W460 platform is not improved by screens. We modernise where comfort demands it — and leave the rest alone. The truck should ask something of the driver.
Documentary standard
Every build is photographed to the same production standard applied to fine art and editorial work. The documentation is itself part of the asset you commission.
Price transparency
Every commission is quoted with purpose and integrity.
The Platform
The G-Wagen was never designed to be fashionable. It was commissioned in 1972 for the Iranian Imperial Guard — a military specification vehicle that had to operate in mountains, deserts and everything between. Shah of Iran money funded a machine that was never meant to be seen on a street.
It has been in continuous production since 1979 — the longest uninterrupted run in Daimler's history. Not because it became a status symbol. But because the underlying architecture is correct.
The German Bundeswehr called their specification Der Wolf. Origin builds from that same lineage — the W460 short and long wheelbase Wolf platforms — before electronics replaced mechanical intuition.
